An excellent well-penned expressive write. I enjoyed reading it, and yes, I too, sometimes listen to Country Music, especially while traveling. My mother, God rest her soul, used to play it constantly. This delightful piece brought back many wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing it.

haha, i've often thought the same thing about country, although i listen to it once in awhile when my sister insists...i'm more of a matchbox 20 or three doors down person myself if i can't find classic rock

I love country and western music too and have written novels based on them. But I do like George Jones his one song was about unrequited love but for sentimental reasons I always liked it.

I have to admit I only listen to Country Western and R&B; maybe the devil's got this old cowpoke already - sure hope not, though!

Loved it. I affraid I don't like country music. Except in the Blues Brothers, one of my favourite films. Give me paul weller and The Jam anyday..

William, I'll have to admit, being an avid Country Music fan myself, that it just ain't what it used to be! I grew up listening to Hank Sr., George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Boxcar Willie, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, and ofcourse Conway and Loretta....many many others as well..
but if I had to choose my favorite...I'd be in real trouble!
So don't get me wrong..I really do love Country Music!
