I wish never to have
Anyone
Dwell Within
The lonely road I walk
Drowning in tears, Of Les Miserable
Where shadows reign
In death's domain
They showed me visions
Without words.
An Electrician
Running wires through the ceiling
Unknown to him
The wire
Was wrapped around his neck
He slipped
Falling off his ladder.
A retired constable Of Patrol
While cleaning his weapon
Looks into the barrel
Sqeezes the trigger
Unknown to him
The gun was loaded.
A woman
Rushes for an elevator
Stepped into an opening door
Falling 30 stories
Into the infinity of her misery.
A shadow stares in my direction
His look said fallow me
I do
As he walks in front of me
He discards to the floor
A stainless steel
Straight razor
Whispering, in a hideous voice
Use your imagination.

My Goodness, This is such a horrifying and stunning poem of truth. The flashbacks and haunting things seen, the elements of quickly life can really be, but there is always one thing to hold onto when thinking of things like these is that they are at peace and the clock of life is each our own although I know that doesn't take away the horrid pictures Let the peace they feel be given to you through them and the love of all in your life who care about you bring you peace and love. This poem has a very powerful message it carries of how being in a hurry, hastened, not paying attention is the cause and so important to remember to quit being aka slow down. I send all my Peaceful thoughts to you to carry you through these times and all times. 42xoox every day! from me and mine to you!

Gad, Bill, this is a window to the dark places that haunt the soul. Chillingly effective, I pray this isn't your current state...a gutpunching, starkly terrifying write, VERY well written and imaged. BRAVO!
Chillingly compelling, William. Makes the reader think. Take care. Love and peace to you. Regis

Oh, William... though there is nothing 'pleasant' in this remarkable piece of poetry, it is a bold commentary on that dark place within us all... you may paint this without pastels, but you have, indeed, delivered a crusher that is masterful and will linger, I assure you. I'm keeping it to remind myself that great poetry may not be about topic, but about honesty and guts. katy xox
This is like a collage of flash backs from your job, eloquently written. Very dark and powerful offering William, hope this does not reflect your mood! Be well and happy...
I guess with you being in the profession that you previously were in, you must have seen a lot of tragedies. Sometimes, you take home someone else's stress and misery.
Hope you are recuperating much better now from all that.
I have one statement regarding the guy cleaning his weapon...bet when it went off and shot him, he was then the first to know there was a round in the chamber...beyond that, this is so depressing for you, Bill, are you okay? Hope you are well, Ed
