I float lifeless in a pool
Supported by floaters
My legs straight out,
Arms opened wide, palms up
Like a marquise cross
Or waiting to be embraced
Eyes wide opened
Music from the oldies
Blur through surround speakers
I stare at the heavens
Noon clouds laden with rain
Sailing aimlessly
fusing into each other
Birds soaring silently
My soul
travels through time, in the past
To the good old days
Good old days, no more
Past my imagination
Within my mind, to the future
Where I fabricate, My own concepts
No limitations to my traveling
I proceed towards the ulimate
Infinity
A gentle breeze
Sails me towards a waterfall
Which feed the pool
Dousing my face
Awakening me to the present
As a slow tune
Of Buddy Holly's blurs
True love's way.
...and I wade into warm waters
through your words
dreamy drifters floating
upon love's boyant bounty
(now I'm splashing you....just a little)

So sensual! Your description of being in water took me totally away. What is it about water falling over us outside? I never get that feeling from an inside shower. Terrific write.
William,
This reminded me of my Grandmother, and something she told me as a child. "For one to truly relax, one must first rigidly excercise the heart, mind and soul". Then she would walk chest high, into the lake, lean back, and float for hours and hours at a time.
Thank You William, for giving me back that memory.
Beautiful write.
Wow.....I was floating with you here...awesome William. I could even feel the misty dampness of that waterfall upon my skin...Poem of tranquility at its best!!
A poet after my heart! Floating is my absolute favorite thing to do, and I've spent a lot of time this summer doing just that. Nothing is more relaxing or makes me feel so free. Great description. I'm going to save this to 'take me there' next month when it's too cold for the pool.

No limitations to my traveling
Indeed there are not, if one knows how to travel well. Sail on, William, and enjoy the ride.
