He held
A high profile position
Within the Government
Always before the optic eyes
Of CNN's lens
Always at his best behavior
Now Retired
Dwelling among new friends
Found himself at a dance
He was elegance among the rest
Tall, slim mid sixties
Full head of graying hair
Looked more like a banker
Possessed the air
Of a Bishop or a Cardinal
A prince in his own elegance.

To his true friends
He was never observed
Being escorted
By any lovely feline
Other than his most trusted
Secretary
At the dance
He sat with his new friends
The band started playing
New York, New York
All Northerners, sang along
Women raced to the dance floor
To strut their own stuff
They formed a line
Creating their own version
Of the Rockettes
Kicking and high stepping
In unison
Tonight he'll do something
He never done before
He too
Raced to the floor
His night to be a bit
Of a clown.

He joined the Rockettes
Breaking a chain link
Third from the left
He kicked higher
Sang louder
buring his nose
High into the air
He knew deep inside
Tonight he was letting "Her" out
As the New York New York Theme
Faded into a mix of YMCA
He stripped his jacket off
First to the center, of the dance floor
Throwing his arms higher
Again singing louder
Yes
Tonight, he let "Her" out
And she exit wild.
