I see a bench
It sits on a nook
Between two bending palm trees
Surrounded by the serene
Of snow white sands
Where the surf blesses the shore
It meets.

There, I seek with an aching heart
Caused by the sight of emptiness
Where I once held her
In my arms
She won't be.

So I stayed, you see!
To beg her, The Sea
To be kind within her glory
Returning her to me.

It was there. I sat lonely
Several years gone by
Not fishing, just staring at her
The Sea, You see!

On an old stone pier
Soothing laughter I hear
As she walked by
Her smile caught my eye
As ours met.

Without regrets I followed
Asked her name
I needed to know
I needed to hear
A voice of her own.

Now I search for her
My love you see
But all I find
Is an empty bench
By the snow white sands
Of her, The Sea.
