Convalescing at a hospital
Near The sea shore
Where my view
Of the sea is inspirational
I was blind to it
But within reality
Surrounded by four walls.
I stare at a lovely
Tropical Island's picture scene
Coconunt palm trees
Laced with floral wreaths
Of wild hot reds
And iridescent hues
A banana Plant, misplaced
Attempts to steal the scene
Just a tinge it seems.
The aqua bay's
Soft gentle waves, slowly surf
Towards the shore
Windless ripples, embracing
The sands
I see no stormy gales
Of strong winds
And understand
Why The Boat
Had lowered it's sails
It was just passing me by.
Three quarters across the frame
Exiting stage left
As they say
The story of my life
Once again
I am left behind
Missing The Boat
That's sailing across, the aqua bay.
It always seems like circumstance causes me to miss the boat. All I can do is watch it go by.... A vivid write, William.... Thank you for sharing...

Sorry to hear it William! Well, I guess if you have to be in a hospital it's nice to have the sea for scenery! This is a great poem, even for the sad facts, can't change that. Take care, and be well soon! You're in my prayers.
Perhaps your ship just hasn't come in yet, William, or perhaps you were supposed to be waiting on a train. We are where we are and all we can do is our best from this point forward. Very well written and introspective offering.
Take care,
Sherry
