Upon waking to reality
Some talk about The Morning After
The Night Before
I remember
Those wonderful mornings
As I laid in bed awake
Long after the arrival
Of a beautiful sunrise.
Dreamily staring at the ceiling
Above
As my head rest
Upon my crossed arms.
Oh! Those beautiful entanglements
Of bodies embraced
In deep passion
That seem to last, for an eternity
Before drifting
Into an oblivious dream.
Now I wake
Finding myself unable
To rest my head
Upon my crossed arms
Because I find it to be
an almost impossible feat
Without suffering pain.
Now I just lay awake
Wondering
How and when
I'll be able
To get out of bed.

deeply touching My Friend. Memories are what keep us alive sometimes.
I now lay awake, hoping I can make it through yet another day, William. Gettin old sure isn't much fun at all for any of us, but we have to keep on, keepin on.
Growing older is not for sissys is what I have heard and I am going to have to say that I couldn't agree more. Something always hurts and we just have to accept it an move through it. I wonder how it happened that I fell asleep one night and when I awoke my youth had escaped. So many different phases we travel through in ths lifetime, so many changes to adapt to. Somehow, It all becomes part of our daily routine.
Take care,
Sherry
