A shadow
resides within my bedroom
He stands behind my TV
In fron of me
Though a dark gray
Without a face
I know
He is facing my direction
Like a guardian Angel
He's there watching over me.
Just a few days ago
I woke early groggily
Semi asleep
Slipped back into the zone of twilight
Between reality and limbo
I saw my shadow
Standing outside my window
This time not looking at me
But towards the east
Away from me
Long after
The rising of the day's sun
This time the shadow was black
To me he showed his back.
Was my shadow abandoning me?
Or was that shadow me?
resting behind my TV
While I was asleep
If so?
Why was he outside my window?
Was he contemplating
Going else where
To someone else be?
I think perhaps...just maybe...your shadow is shy. Maybe through your words he lives as well. There is a whimsical life in this poem..it is your sel fcontrol over living with a slight grim for all of us readers.
I love it!

Mine usually flits by making me question if I really saw something or if my imagination is playing tricks on me...but the strong feeling of love that consumes the air that I am breathing lets me know that I am being watched over and protected. Lots to ponder here, William...thanks for the mental calisthenics.
Take care,
Sherry
Excellent shadowy write that has many mysterious layers to peel. I've had this kind of experience William, and we know why it chills the bones. It isn't easy keeping the shadows at bay...
m m m, I am going to ponder very careful with what I should start with,,such as, this was alittle errrie,,ith ad chills running down my back,,when he was outside your window was a little creepy too, but yet, this was an excellent write because of the way it ended, with was that you as if a friend was leaving,,,sometimes we do wonder if leave ourselves, because sometimes we can feel so alone, and did a part of us go somewhere else, or perhaps with some they might could they left a part of theirselves somewhere, enjoyed this very much,,reminds me of an old poem I wrote years ago, maybe I will put it some time in the near future,,keep your quill full of ink,,dear Sir,,
