The expression on her face
Was that of a blank sheet of paper
Silver short cropped hair
Tall thin
Hatchet face features
Sharp not ugly, attractive
More like an elderly librarian
Time shared a few wrinkles
Within her face
Blue eyes
That told no tales
No signs of love nor passion
Displayed
Life must have been hard
For her
Somewhere along the trail.

She seems way up there
In her golden years
I could've called her
Mom, Myself
Watched her
Empty her shopping cart
Into the trunk, Of a cadillac s.u.v
Yet she was as straight
As a ram rod
Walked with a cane
Looked like a proper Lady
To my observation
All the same
Had all her faculties
Totally sane.

It sounds so familiar, like a person one might know. You have in a wonderful way expressed an observation of a woman. Great work!

It is possible to have personal strength and to understand that we must go on even if there is a part of us inside that has long ago died. Not being whole is not the same as being shatterd, but just the same, joy has seemed to have left her behind. At any rate, you have drawn the character very well. Very nice write!
Take care,
Sherry

One can be sane and broken all the same William. This character pen tells a story in the details of the in-between. You have a gift for this type of prose and these are my favorite too!

Not sure what the point of this poem is--why write it? What is it that you're trying to tell the reader? A good piece of writing should have some change--in the writer, the reader, the situation, whatever. Nothing changes here.

You've also got several distracting typos.
