She faded into my memories
As She walked away from me
That night my heart felt
The true meaning
Of loneliness
Tears failed to materialized
Until shock eroded
The lines of my smile.
~~~~*~~~~
Her Lips I'll Taste No More
I can still hear
Sensuous whispers
Diving me insane, with imagery
Of her wanting desires
In the doom of darkness
Where shadows never undressed.
~~~~*~~~~
My arms reached for her
But no one was there
To receive my embrace
My lips searched
For those, I once tasted
While parted souls
Nestle
In their own nest.

So very bittersweet, and quite powerful, D'Artagnan.

"While parted souls nestle in their own nest." So achingly beautiful is this last line. It is so true how we find a way of holding on to those memories and created a sacred place for them. I look forward to each time you post. I hope you are resting and healing quickly!
Be well,
Beautifully deep and moving longing for what was once had! Very passionate poem William!...Eileen

I do declair I know this feeling...Sometimes true love is not physical, it's beyond that to spiritual..Sad but true..Excellent write my dearest William...
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
