The Image In The Mirror
Stared at me curiously
With questions upon his lips
Why?
~~~~*~~~~
The Mockingbirds
No longer sing their sweet
Melodies for me
Why?
~~~~*~~~~

I no longer smell
The sweet scent of roses
That I grow
Outside my window
Why?
~~~~*~~~~
The Morning's Dew
Of this lovely morning
Is dry
Like the tear drops
That no longer stream
Down their tracks, on my face
Why?
~~~~*~~~~

The stones, no longer whisper
Like when they used to
Recite
Little white lies
That once amsued me
Making me smile
Why?
~~~~*~~~~
William,
A stellar composition, relating to the muted senses, as one ages..
only to discover our new and better ones!
So many things that were so easy in childhood seem to become so much more "hidden" as we become adults. This is deep, William; and it is thought-inciting. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you,
Regis
I thought my mirror was a great painting....your mocking bird don't
wanna mock you no more, and the others are in transition...
I love this William...at first I wanted to simply answer the questions somehow, then losing myself in the depth of the layers that it would take to answer that, am left pondering as to how many things have I myself become blind and deaf? Very clever write. Panda :)
Aaaawwwwww!!!!!! William, I'm so sorry you feel that way!!!!! Hope you'll get out of this phase soon.
When you can answer to all the "why's" in this poem, that's when you will heal yourself. Now, try to answer them all...
You are right william. Man has been so unkind to nature for many centures and in return nature has reduced its mercy and beauty towards man. Few notice this kind of change. Great poem
