I watched the sunrise
Of this beautiful new day
I downed two eggs
For breakfast
A toasted bagel with a schmere
A cup of hot coffee
Went down well
Than I thanked God
For what I ate.
My foot no longer hurts
As it did,
Before the surgery
I suffered severe aches.
I prayed for our sons
Who are still fighting
Or previously fought
In those far away lands
My sons are now home
One of them, at one time
Was over there, in God's hands.
Beautiful flowers within
My garden, continue to blooming
In maternity wards
Accross the land
New born babies are crying
Because they've been extracted
From their secured haven.
By labor pains,
At times
By the Doctor's helpful hands
Crying now because they are cold
No longer are they embraced
By the sanctuary
Of their host warm womb.
Yes I saw the sunrise
It awaken me
From my snuggly bed
To face yet another day.
Of what to do, what to eat
What to see, what to be
What will happen?
On this tomorrow of yesterday
It's not up to me.
For a Police Officer
What's around the corner
Is a mystery to him
To a firefighter, he's unaware
If this siren, emergency run
Will be his last
For that soldier, that slept
With full gear
Holding his M-16
He thank God
For yet, "Another Sunrise."

We have much to thank God for another sunrise. We never know when the last one will be. Not that I worry too much about that, but a day given to us is one to be used for the glory of God. Very realistic poem. Victor
How beautifully you've expressed life, and it's meaning to each special person. And how grateful I am to awaken each new day! Lots of soul in this piece, William.
An outstanding poetic deliverance in "Another Sunrise" leads the imagination to meet knowledge and wisdom to understand the inhumane actions of mankind, and gives the sense of balance and social responsibility showing the actions of those that enrich the history of their time.
I enjoyed the reading of "Another Sunrise" - for its messages and its poetic dues duly paid.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
