My back rest against
An accent palm tree
In an oasis
Along the desert road
I've been traveling
To the City, I'm in Journey to
Exhausted and dehydrated
I sat in the shade.
After tasting the fruit
From the palm tree
That provided me the coolness
Of it's comfort
I drank from the soothing
Chilled waters
Of a water hole
Drifting and nodding
Trying to stay awake.

I saw
A gentle of a man
Sitting on an ass
Accompanied
By twelve others.
I quickly and stealthily hid
Inside nearby shrubs
Thinking them, Highwaymen
I dared not breathe
I feared for my safty.
The stranger's companions
Made him comfortable
At a rock
By the water hole
Removed his sandals
Rinsed his feet.

Who might he be?
I thought to myself
At that instant
A leper exposed himself
Out of nowhere
Hideous
He was, missing his lips.
Upon his face
He wore a permanent grin
Multiple sore covered his body
He fell to his knees
Before the stranger, kissed his feet.
He spoke strange words
I've never heard before
Or was it because
He had no lips.

The man sitting on the rock
Placed a hand
On the lepers forehead
In silence and disbeleive
I pounded my head
The leper's face, was rejuvenated
Before my eyes
At that instant, I wanted to cry
I sob in silence
For I still feared the strangers.
The leper felt his face,
He was cured
Ran his hands, all over his body
Crying out of control
With happiness
Prasing the stranger
Who told him, to go in peace.

I enjoyed this and it did take me on a journey. William, when you write you transport the reader to another place. This time you did so in a very gentle and spiritual way. Excellent!
