At times I am able
To control dreams
Like A Dream Weaver
Or A Weaver Of Dreams
Finding myself in situations
I rather not be within.

Forcing myself to wake
Before drifting into an ugly scene
I wake with a smile
Knowing I am leaving
An unweaved and uncertain portions
Of a dreams behind.

I find myself slipping
Back into the same dream's
Situation
That's reoccurring more
As time passes by.

There Are times
Graceful dreams start fading
Into distorted scenes
Pulling me
Towards The dark side
Of a nightmarish scene.

Found in the unconsciousness
Of areas feared
Again with a smile
I fight myself awake
Knowing I just weaved
Another dream.

Selecting choice scenes within
Like a master disigner
Of a tapestry, or quilt
Implementing, love and affection
In dreams
I wish to come true .

Thought provoking poem, William! Dreams can be strange, indeed. Fortunately, I've not had "Dark" dreams...and could never control them. I did have those repeating dreams of falling, but once I admitted my fear of heights, the dreams disappeared...

Some nightmares will repeat themselves
when the windows of the soul has been left open
because you have desire to find the cause of this
Nightmares that is what my grandmother used
To tell me but doctors call this post-traumatic syndrome
and some call it sleeping disorders because of to much stress
I hope and prayed you don't have any of this things!!
Excellent content and Imagery great choice of words and flow!
Very Interesting Write!!!

What would we dreamers do if we could not slip into dreamland, awake or asleep...you paint a vivid canvas my friend, great poem!

dream control, nice William, I'm into this also. Positivity breeds good dreams. Negativity breeds nightmares. Great poem to ponder

Nightmares have a tendency to repeat themselves until we take control and acknowledge their meanings of existence...stare it down and simply say...Go Away! works for me! Smiles!
I enjoyed this write, it gives life to the things that actually exist!
Love and Peace~

I know not of anyone who calls himself or herself 'a poet,' who can accomplish that inborn talent without being a "Weaver of Dreams."
So true, William.

I can't seem to remember most of my dreams. There's probably a reason
my innerself won't allow it.

I wish I was a Dream Weaver, all of mine seem very weird, and I can never make much sense of them.

You are a Dreamweaver. I love the mystery of dreaming and you give us a spin around that concept.
Thanks!

Very interesting concept here, William. Being able to control dreams is one area I know nothing about. I have awakened from a nightmare only to fall back asleep and re-dream the same nightmare again -- that stinks and I hate it. Clever poem, my friend!

CJ

Oddly enough Bro. Bill, I read this, and thought "post-tramatic syndrome." No matter what happens in a home torn by abuse or a nation torn by war, this is a tough one for anyone to deal with. And those who have strong supports count ourselves as blessed. Praying that others going thru whatever life smacks them in the face with will know that this life is "not it!" and that there is always a side where one day, we will wake up, and if we are in the arms of Jesus, the nightmares will be over.
blessin's and peace to you,
cynth'ya
