Where Have I been?
I've been here, there
But to my knowledge
I haven't been everywhere.
~*~
What have I done?
Well I've done, this, that
But to my knowledge
I haven't done all.
~*~
Am I satisfied
With myself in this life?
To my knowledge
I am.
~*~
I am not a pompous man
I don't see myself
As better than others
I try my best
To be a righteous man
I obey the laws
Per say.
~*~
A father of three children
With children of their own
Each own their own home
Never did I mistreat them
Nor them I.
~*~
I do say my prayers
At night
Upon every sunrise
I praise the Lord
For the glory, to see
A new day.
~*~
I haven't been everywhere
Until I journey
Through the dark tunnel
Of judgment
Where a bright light
Awaits me at the end.
~*~
To show me the way
Of Milk And Honey
And Eternal Peace
At the gentle green
Fields Of Clover
In the sweet meadows
Of Elysium.

Quite a poem of enlightnment and reality, Mr. Bonilla. Lived in NY for awhile, back in the sixties, Flushing and Lynbrook, Long Island . . . don't imagine I'd recognize the place these days . . . Fond memories though . . . Good poetry . . .
This is happiness, William! To realize the good you have helped produce, and have that good returned to you with love. 'Tis all we can ask for our life's endeavors. May "the way" be far ahead for you.

But you ARE on your way there, maybe you have a long way to go, but that's your journey in life, up and towards our Heavenly Father. And you will arrive, my friend, just keep vigilant. Victor
Sounds like you have been doing a little soul searching, my friend...a beautiful, thoughtful offering, William...

Oh my this was beautifully written, such a kind spirit my friend. Enjoyed this so much a little glimpse into your life and a little glimpse of what awaits us all...judgement and then eternity, glad that I chose to walk the path with the Lord, eternity in heaven...no better reward than that! Enjoyed this so much...glad I stopped by.
Blessings for the upcoming year,

William, William...you are much too gentle, kind, appreciative, and insightful to call yourself d'Artagnan. (I do love the Musketeers, too, though)
May 2007 bring you much joy.

Enjoyed the write and you sharing your outlook very much. It's reassuring to see so many walking toward the light with so much darkness around.

Good to know that you are not standing at the end of the tunnel beginning your journey, just yet, William. We try to live our lives the best that we can, we try to remember to give thanks, we honor our families, neighbors and friends, yet, we still wonder what will be our fate when we reach our Day of Judgement. Very nice poem.
Take care,
Sherry
