i've leaned this lesson well, that's why i carry around a digital voice recorder and when i leave my house never forget pen and paper ... i would feel naked without them ...

You describe it perfectly William! A poet without pas and pen gets the same cravings as any other addict, and to lose the words of a poem can't be tolerated;-) Superb poem!

I always have a pad of paper in the car. What's missing, is often THE PEN! Good job.

Spoken like only a true poet and writer can, William! I've gotten into the habit of having a notebook and pen on the seat beside me when I drive. Of course, much of what I've written when I get where I'm going is totally unreadable to anyone but me, but it works! I like how you think, my friend! Now I don't feel like I'm strange at all ... LOL

I gave up on writing pads and bought myself a tiny voice recorder that I can keep with me at all times...much easier to push a button and talk than try to write it down...great write my friend enjoyed and can relate well.

I feel your pain and I solved that problem. I keep a pad attached to a clipboard with a pen attached by cord and I reach for it, sit it on the armrest of my SUV and write away when I'm at a traffic light.
It works great for those Muse moments.

I understand this very well, William. A few days ago, while at the park, I could not find a working pen so I used my eyeliner;) Recording device is a great idea.

Such a dilemma to be in for sure, but I think Mr. Ed has given you good advise; a tape recorder would do the job for you.

I sadly know the feeling, William. Get yourself a tiny voice recording device, they are great for verbally penning those thoughts while driving.
