I walk in the pain
The desert brings
As I thirst Risking life
In quick sands.
There! in the Arid heat
Dangers prevail
Where vipers and scorpion dwells.
Forging ahead Towards unknown
Lost are my faded footprints
Covered by nomadic winds
In desert storms.

Traveling
In direction unknown
The cold of night, Ease the pain
Of the burning sun
Branded upon my flesh.
The heavens become a theater
My vision is blest
With a Galaxy of stars
To lead my way .
In my shivering night
I am not lost
Till the sun once again
Torments my soul
Into another cycle of hell.

You just shared with us what must be part of what's inside so many soldiers heads, and in the minds of those who live in ghetto war zones around the world in every nation, including ours. Also this shows a psychological desertion as well, not knowing where to go, to which I share with anybody who is having a rough time the following:
"He's an On Time God, yes He is! Oh He's an On Time God, yes He is. . . He may not come when you need Him, but He's always right on time, He's an On-time God, yes He is!"

God bless you Bro. William,

William, I like your metaphor in this writing, nights can change the mind, causing bad dreams of the happenings of a terrible day. I think you did a great job on this writing!

I can relate to the metaphor of this...the taking solace in the night and dreams after being tortured by the reality during the day...outstanding write here my friend.

Exxotic places but just hide from the sun. Full of imagery that leads the reader through the journey. Well done!!

Even though the journey you speak of sounds treacherous, you write about it with such poetic beauty.
