She loved every word
Composed by one so young
She once said, to everyone
Now she lies In her final bed
Just waiting
For the Reaper lurking aimlessly
Outside her door
As she rest.
Within her heart, soul and mind
She belongs
Now she’s in her passing in review
Of a beautiful life
She leaves behind.
All her so called sins
Before the Lord were benign
Venial
A soul so pure, she lived
Just for him,
Who left her behind
All alone
Yet secured he stayed
Within her mind
For no one could have ever
Held candle to him.
Gone but not forgotten
Were the memories
That now she recalls so clearly
She sees before her eyes
His hand Reaching for her’s
She calls out his name
No one else sees within the room
The reaching hand.
Hands comfort each other
As she once again listens
To his whispering recitals
A smile aglow the loveliness
Of a once wrinkle free face
Dimming blue eyes become transfixed
With a waxen stare into infinity
As two loving souls
Sail into the sunset of a lifetime
Once belonging to Two.
One belonging to two. This is a great quote and I could cry this poem touches me so. The words are so lovely and liking this poem. I think I will put it in my favorites so can easily read it when feeling low. Good inspiring poem. Thanks.
