Something Cheesy
(For Ed’s the cheese challenge)
Bon Appetite

Well I was going to write about
“Head cheese”
Then it would’ve been obscene
So as you can see
I’m splitting from the scene.

Lets go further down
Way down to the ground
They had no cheese
Then/yet

Cause they knew not how
To milk a dinosaur cow
They couldn’t find a way
To extract milk

Didn’t know how
To jerk their gherkins
Let along find it
Nor yank their chains
Not invented yet.

One day
While the clan of cavemen
Where relaxing at midday
Grooming each other
Eating their lice away.

One fell in between
A set of toes
Close to the ground
Or somewhere around.

Walla!
A great discovery
Was made that very day
T’was not cheese per say
A new found food supplement
Save the day.

A dark creamy substance
Was found
Between toes
Standing close to the ground
It was scooped up
On a finger
Placed under the nose
Mmmmmmm!
Just like gorgonzola
That wasn’t invented yet
To that day
Someone might say.

The odor was strange
To the lips the finger traveled
Mmmmmmmmm!
Caveman say
I think I found an acquired taste.
Though the toe jam
Was not cheese it was yummy
For them those days.

"Didn’t know how
To jerk their gherkins"
now this is one hilarious phrase and on that keeps my mind's eye on the prehistoric days....but

That still happens today in this "civilized world"
Do tell...

Love,
Susan

Gross, but acutely funny. Hence, toe jam. Are you saying this was the precursor of stinky, smelly cheese? Might not be able to enjoy this any more - the vivid images that you created are stuck in my head. [kinda' wishing my head was like swiss, then maybe I'd loose some of the images] LOL
