Thanksgiving And The Politician
(A Repost )
~*~

By: William Bonilla
~~~~*~~~~
Happy Holidays
The local politician
wished his maid, butler
And chauffer.
As he made his way
To the yearly ritual
That cold morning day
At the ghetto mission.
To serve a Thanksgiving meal
To the poor and homeless
That find themselves
At the ebb of nothingness.
Clinging to the rim
Of the abyss
Walking a razor's edge
on one side
you fall from grace
On the other side
Awaits, the bottomless pit
And suicide.
Happy Holidays
Enjoy your meal
He constantly repeats
Mechanically
Making sure, the local TV
And reporters
Have their camers on
with a masqueraded smile.
He is wishing people
He wouldn't get caught dead with
Happy Holidays
I wish this endless line
would end soon
So I may retreat
To my suburban mansion
He says to himself.
As my chauffer, drives me home
My butler, uncloaks me
At the enterance
Dinner will be served,
In a half hour, sir.
But not before He runs upstairs
To remove the imagenary stench
Of the ghetto, off himself
He bathes and changes clothes.
He sits, at the head of his table
Crosses himself, in prayer
As he lowers his head
He thanks God
For his humbleness.
A wonderful write William and if a good deed isn't done from a good heart, God sees so all the cameras in the world mean nothing, there are too many false faces out there looking for a pat on the back.
Thank you for sharing.
William, your writings are meaningful & spoken in a voice of seeing through the falseness of a politican, etc.,...leaving an impression in my mind of wisdom & truth in this writing and knowing so much of this exists every day. An exceptional writing William.
This same problem doesn't just fall at the feet of the Politician...it's in the perscriptions of our Doctors, in the lies of our media, who support mass reaction for the benefits of their investments, its in the laboratories of our researchers who have the cures bottled up for revenge or better tactics in order for leverage, waiting for the pay offs...it's everywhere we look these days...Yeah...they better be praying and God help them if they really, truly mean it...God help them, if they don't!
William...you sparked my frustrations...
Good one!
Love and Peace~
He is a politician who kisses the babies and promisses everyone a future and he sees nothing but himself in his mirror. SEnseless person with no value is a politician with greed as his tatoo.
Humbleness, my foot. These politicians forget whom they serve, and use them only to gain advantage as a compassionate soul. NOT. They're not fooling me. Sad...powerful hard hitting truths in this one, William.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
I'd L O V E to see them live where they (we) are, without all the perks and benefits "high offices" have.
The truth of what you write, at least the first part, can be seen on the evening news, or photos in the newspapers...how sad is that?
Good hard hitting write, William
...And while they go on vacation, there's still the problems of the nation to attend to, to address. Sad!
(((HGUS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
I wish there wasn't any truth in what you write, but, sadly, there is too much.
God bless you. Kathy
