Invading eyes
~*~


Your penetrating eyes +
Invade my soul
From within the beautiful image
I find myself in possession of
A portrait surly taken in heaven
For you’re the Goddess of my dreams.

The sweetness of your soft
Tender pink lips
I almost taste
When you place a soft kiss
Upon my face.

They were so close to mind
Yet so far away
I saw it in your eyes as I pulled away
You too desired the taste of mine
Sadly enough I was departing that night,
Leaving my thoughts of you
To my awaiting dreams.

Sad sometimes...thinking about "what ifs." The last two lines leave the reader with a longing. Beautifully written.

Poem from a yearning heart not yet sure to really depart and leave behind that goddess that promises an Olympus of sensual pleasures...yet, like a bee, he must go to the next flower.
