“Diane”
The sun shines through your blinds
Waking you from deep sleep
Its mother’s Day once again
And a thought became trapped
In my mind.
I’ve never
written a Poem about you
Baffled I wondered why
How could I have not share
your wonderfullness
With the world.
You're tall, fair
Beautiful long ebony curly hair
As a Mother, you awarded me
My three grandsons.
Mother, oh Mother, Daughter-in-law
Daughter of mine within my heart and soul
Too busy being a mother.
To hear the Morning bird's songs
chirping along.
As the dew laden
Flowers in the garden
Prepare for another beautiful day
As shadows run away
In the middle of May.
To you dear Daughter-in-law
I wish for you the best
on this most sacred of days
Happy Mother's Day.
