A Drop Of Dew

A Drop Of Dew

 

The heavens

Have left me a surprise

For my eyes to view

A lovely sight

At the height of noon

A single drop of dew

Resting upon a green leave

On a rose bush.

I was unable to look away

Mesmerized

She looked like a diamond

On display

Or dare I say, an angel’s tear

All I could do

Was to stare in admiration.

~*~

 

Old sol stood above me at noon

Heat bearing down

Inhaling The drop of dew

One breath at a time

Vaporizing

This priceless jewel

Sitting there before me.

~*~

 

Will I ever see another

Drop of dew

The same way ever again

Will it be in my tomorrow?

Sadly I question

For I know

Tomorrows never arrive,

At least not my way.

Dew drops will be there again, perhaps not a symbolic as the one you wrote about , but they will come. Your pen captured its infinite beauty. The verse was tranquil , almost spellbinding!....M

you'll see another William, and another, don't kill yourself off so easy, the way I figure it, you'll see a thousand more and write that many verse about it, it's basically a mental thing, we can live forever in our brains and never die, besides when we're dead we won't know it, at least the body won't. hey man you'll be writing verse in heaven, see you in the stars but lets hold that one off for awhile, great verse

perfect photo for this exquisite write, william.
i know the feeling well. yesterday i watched a wind-
whipped rain illumined by the sun; diamonds falling
from the heavens! it was spectacular.
nature is our very best companion, no matter the
temperment.

I love this, for it's in the simple things that we are able to marvel at life...and to appreciate them when they occur...your last verse tells "why," perfectly.

Dew drop in, my friend, you need a shot of Amber Ale...I feel something here in this poem and I am deeply concerned.
This is a very deeply passionate poem with undertones of loneliness and heartache.

Oh it will just as this time it did. Taking time out to smell the roses just took a totally different meaning for me. I must take the time to see the roses to and see what magic they possess. Lovely write William, keeping looking you'll see it again. Love, Bonnie
