Why was I not born of stone? Why was I not Born of stone? Like a gargoyle Sitting atop A cathedral’s ledge So I won’t feel the pain That’s saturating my heart and soul Caused by being away from you. Why was I not born color blind? So my vision won’t be able To immortalize The blinding colors of the spectrum And of your silken golden hair Nor the beauty residing within The pools within Your sapphire blue eyes Why was I not born deaf? So I may not hear Nor listen to the Angelic voice Songs and sonnets That torments my minds Every thought of you I imprisoned within my soul. Why was I not born a mute? So I may not be able to recite The poetry’s rhythm Passing through my lips As I call out your name Or every single I love you While vowing my true love of you Eternally For I’ve been bewitched By You My true Goddess of my life.
