Five Christmas Haikus

 

 

#1.)

Christmas

 

Christmas once again

Our children far and away

Where the Reaper wars.

 

#2.)

Won’t be home

 

Winter decorations

Locked securely in attic

Soldiers won’t be home

 

#3.)

Christmas Dinner

 

Silently seated

An empty plate, chair missing

Tears slowly flow

 

#4.)

 Silent night

 

Night before Christmas

Stocking hanging all sleeping

One displayed Empty

 

#5.)

Standing guard duty

 

Silent desert night

Can of c-ration opened

 Food blessed ate Amen
