Again, A taste Of Honey

~*~

He was almost a hundred

Lived his life working hard

Honest and brief

Within a dream

He dreamt of his youth

Living a whole new life

Again, tasting the sweetness

Of honey

In the morning

He had a heavenly smile

His final tear

Rolled down the side

Of his face.

Oh William, you moved me to tears. Most of us do remember and try to recapture the wonderful years of our youth, but it is also a beautiful thing to discover the true meaning of the golden years. Wisdom, maturity, deep love and inner peace. Be well and God bless.

Sheri

This tugs on the heartstrings, William. I think we've all imagined an alternate life, so this is easy to relate to. A haunting end to this piece. Great!

Splendid in its rendering of those last days we all must face and hope they are as peaceful.

True tenderness is often hard to capture, William, but you do it perfectly here with the right words and not too many of them, the control counts for everthing here, the value increases in spareness and proper choice. Highly evocative.

HONEY NEVER LOOSES ITS FLAVOR...OVER A PERIOD OF TIME...OLD HONEY MAY THICKEN BUT...ITS STILL 'SWEET'. ONCE SWEET...ALWAYS SWEET...NOTHING TO CRY OVER...ENJOY THE BLESSINGS OF '...BEAUTY FOR ASHES...'. A WELL DONE WORK OF BITTER-SWEETNESS. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS.
