Still Waiting

Still  waiting

To view your portrait

Is like genuflecting

In front of the Goddess

You personify,

You emit a heavenly air

About you.

 

That demands

Love, passion and above all

The respect,

A sensuous woman as yourself

Is in titled to.

 

I am jealous

Because you have never heard

The whispers

I have so long desire

To intrude upon you

Whether it may be

Within my embrace

Or in your dreams.

 

Dream I do

Of you

Each day as I lay awake

As I thank God

For yet another day.

 

Wondering

Will it be today?

Our heart beat incoherently

As they press against

Each other.

 

Will it be today?

I will finally taste

The true sweetness

Of milk and honey

As it was promised

In the Good Book

Of those lost in the wilderness

And will that taste be upon the softness

Of your heavenly lips?

Such an overwhelming longing... It makes me realize that without hope and desire, well, what is left?
