Fluffy

I saw her descending
From a hill
Behind the house
Of a quiet small
Georgia Town
Within her jaw
Dangled like a wet rag
A young reckless
Squirrel.
She laid it on display
On our deck’s
Welcome mat
As if to say
Look what I caught
Today
The week before
She displayed
A healthy Chipmunk
A beautiful
Lifeless specimen.
The best was
The snake she produced
Minus a head
A smart deadly feline
I must say
Knows how to supplement
Her diet.
