Poem Artwork

The Blue Balloon

After a celebration
I took into possession
A blue balloon
Wrote on it
An inscription.

It was dark
A crispy chill
Filled the air
On this wintry night.
Dark velvet skies
Were decorated
With brilliant
diamond Studded stars
Hosting a half bright
Beautiful moon.
I looked heaven bound
Releasing the balloon
Immediately
Feeling deep emotion.

For at that moment
I envy the balloon
As it was set
In motion on its journey
To where ever
It’s destiny was set forth
On the tail
Of zephyr winds,
On that beautiful night
I wanted to be "It"

"Hosting a half bright
beautiful moon
I looked heaven bound."

There comes a day
When most of us
will be heaven bound
just like that
blue balloon!
Well done, William!

All you have to do is attach enough of those balloons to a light wicker chair and then take off into the night. No telling where you'll land. ;-)

I THINK WE ALL, AT SOME TIME IN OUR LIFE, ONCE LOOKED AT A BALLOON...FLYING HIGH AND FREE...AND WISHED, FOR ONE PERSONAL REASON OR ANOTHER, WE WERE 'IT'. A GREAT WORK WHICH IS A KEEPER FOR ME. THANKS FOR SHARING! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I can relate to wanting to be "it," and sailing away to whatever fate. Yes, I can.
