Encouraging voices
Inside my head
Like a pendulum
On its way down
Towards the pit
Of valuable time
Drips
through my fingers.
I find myself
Being wedged between time
Furthering me
From my most valued
Passion
Reading and writing.
I seemed to have
Neglected fellow poets
As they still carry on
With their God’s given
Talent.
How can one
Asked these legends
Of verses To forgive
An aging scriber
Caught in a vortex of time
Who admires
The Great talent shared
Within the corridor’s
“In the Den”
Of great poets.

I just watched Arnie, Jack, and Gary tee off at the Masters. Except for Gary, who, after 52 Masters appearances seems to be still going strong, the other two giants of golf are now in their decline and may, very soon not be able to make nine holes. Everyone reaches that point at some time in their life unless they are struck down by a sudden heart attack or car at the peak of their performance.
I guess it's just my way of saying, I understand and know that I will be there someday, for I find it hard to read and comment on everyone's poetry even now, although I have all the time the world in retirement with no children nagging me and no friends asking me to play a round of golf. I too, will fade from view. So will we all.
I understand how you feel. There are times when my life gets overwhelming and I don't have the time to do things I want to do. I really like the way you wrote this!!! Imagery to the max!

Either way, I admire them both. Poets and other writers must speak to the ages, not just to their peers. That that are able to do that will be remembered. I intend to come back and check up on den writers. :)
