Are you dying?
~~~~~*~~~~~
I heard her voice
Gently asking me
Are you dying?
In a whisper
Oh, so near my heart
I looked around
Knowing I was alone
In my hospital room
She passed on
18 years ago
My beloved mother.
Now I lay in bed
At the mercy of my lord
Waiting for heart surgery
Wondering the out come
Of my coming tomorrow.
This poem really speaks to all who have had a close call!
I am so grateful that it wasn't your time my dear man!
Much peace love and light!
Came the morrow...with beating heart and memories of a loving "mom".
I note that this was written on June 2 before your surgery. Your mind was working over time as you feared the outcome of your pending surgery. In a half dream, it's entirely possible that you thought your mother was talking to you. These kind of dreams happen to me and happen to everyone.
Based in what I know about bypass surgery, the outcome of it is generally quite favorable, lengthening lives, probably at least 10 years. The biggest danger in hospitals these days, is not the surgery, which saves lives, but the nasty bugs that the overuse of antibiotics have created. I have experienced them, and my father died as result of them in a hospital.
From today, I'm sure you have a much better perspective on this poem and are feeling less like, "dying," every day as you get back to your active life.
A very tight, sparse and truly moving poem. I tend to be wordy. I will try to follow your example. With blessings from a quick recovery. John
A mother's voice is the sound of hope and love. I'm so glad you are doing well today. Thank God!
Love ya!
I have heard my mothers voice many times since she passed away seven years ago. She still seems to be watching over me.
From the jungles of Viet-Nam to the urban jungle.
So happy your operation turned out so well, and that you will have many more years of bountiful living. A very special poem.
Thank you William, Thank you to remind me to call my mother today. For I may not be able to speak with her tomorrow. Thank you. Amen.
