Just a lonely leaf

On a cold clear crispy
Late Fall Georgia
Windy morning
A lone leaf
Sailed across my feet
Scratching the concrete
Noisily
Pushed by
A chilled breeze
Whetting the ink of my
Inspiration
Just a lonely leaf
Sailing across my feet.

The inspiration lies in conveying the image you have that sets a person thinking. Everyone feels lonely at one time or another and therefore can relate very much to this. A short, sweet poem that works very well. Very evocative. I always admire brevity, a talent that I have yet to master. John

AHH, BUT BILL...YOU'VE GOT TO GO FURTHER BACK THAN THAT! WHERE DID THE LEAF COME FROM BILL? WHO 'MADE' THAT LEAF? WHOSE HANDS FORMED IT, PLUCKED IT OFF OF A TREE(HOW FAR AWAY?)AND SENT IT THROUGH THE AIR TO 'SAIL ACROSS 'YOUR' FEET'? CHILD OF GOD, THE LORD SMILED ON YOU TO REMIND YOU THAT HE KNOWS WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU ARE AND HE...LOVES YOU! GOD IN HIS AWESOMENESS USES MANY THINGS, IN MANY WAYS TO GET OUR ATTENTION, TO REMIND US THAT...HE'S STILL VERY MUCH IN CHARGE. HAPPY THANKSGIVING MY FRIEND! YOU ARE NOT ALONE, GOD IS WITH YOU AND HE 'SAILED OVER YOUR FEET' TO LET YOU KNOW! LOOK UP, BILL AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS, MUCH! WHEN YOU EAT THAT PIECE OF TURKEY, THINK OF ME(SMILE). LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

You were not so lonely as a leaf found you and let it's presence be known. It understood.

Love ya!
