Darkness shrouds the surroundings
Where I dwell
As I walk back home
Alone.
The chill breeze
Howls as it makes
It's way past
The leafless trees
I hear giant bat wings
Fluttering in the darkness
I fear not, for I say
My prayers at night
I am adorned
With a silver cross.
In my possession
I carry a bottle
Of water blessed
I see the Evil eyes
Hidden
Staring from within
The woods.
The moving clouds
Made way for the Rays
Of the silvery full moon
To shine my path.
At a distance I hear
The wild howling
Of the beast
That also says its prayers
At night.
He will protect me
From the evil lurking about
And in my waist band
I possess
A .357 caliber
With bullets laced
In silver nitrate
To protect myself
From the beast
That howls.
The beast is everywhere, but as you write here, especially at night with the darkness, the wind and the eyes. A wonderful rendition of fear and expectation touched by the magic wand of inner strength. Well done.
William, you must have been one heck of a cop back in the days!
You are armed and dangerous!
Love the tale you are spinning.
Much peace, love and light,
Amber
