Very soon, your very thoughts, even these dreadful ones you are trying to put on electronic paper, will go directly to the cloud and the romantic devices you describe will be moot.

Searching my mind for a "hook,"
a phrase that spawns a poem is not something we
can do. On our own, we are nothing. No poetry at all.
I just go play golf, happy to be alive,
when so many that were diagnosed with my "EX" condition did not survive three months.
Put down the plume and pick up the camera.
He probably walked into that room to get the parchment out and write. I bet he had a good poem going on at the time. I hope he remembers it. Cool poem!

Alas, we all experience "the half full inkwell", waiting patiently to be drained. Indeed, good poetry is pure inspiration that descends from . . . who knows where.
