THIS IS A INCIDENT THAT I, INDEED, FELT SAD ABOUT. HIS KILLING WAS NOT A OBJECTIVE BUT, GIVEN THE EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES IT BECAME A NECESSITY. AFTER THE SECOND DRAG OF THE CRYING CHILD THROUGH THE WATERS, THE CARE TAKERS COULD NOT TAKE ANY CHANCES WITH THE CHILD'S SAFETY SO THEY DID WHAT HAD TO BE DONE. THANKS FOR SHARING. A sad situation. You are so right about the hysterics that humans tend to exhibit. Animals operate on instincts and are frightened and confused when confronted with such anguish from a crowd of observers who would be best to be quiet, back off, and let the professionals decide what happens. Attempting to get a video to put on the Internet may or may not be a good thing. But in situations like this, the safety of the child and the safety of the animal should be considered and not hysterical outcry.

For all you animal lovers out there… And I am one of you… Please let the decision of the officials stand. Under the circumstances, they did the right thing. On the other hand, there should've been no way that a small boy could enter the enclosure after other incidents similar to this that happened in the past.
