WHEN WE ALL GIVE THANKS.
HERE'S A LITTLE BIT OF THE RATTLE SNAKE
(REALITY)
Thanksgiving In A Box

Happy Holidays, are here again
As he crawls,
into his cardboard box
To keep dry, and wring out
His wet socks.
~~*~~
At a distance
He can hear the jingle bells
Of a corner Santa
And exchanges of meaningful
Season's Greetings.
~~*~~
He clinches his teeth,
Fighting back many tears
For he can not control
Memories of past years.
~~*~~
The smiles,
Of his grandchildren
As he once handed,
Their awaiting gifts
He vision their fantasies
On their lovely faces.
~~*~~
As he searched in the darkness
For his dry blanket
Within his sheltered box
And for the bottle
To keep
At least his thoughts
In dryer places.

The unhappy result of allowing free enterprise to provide for everyone. Free enterprise readily throws away people considered unfit for its production machine where profits over people resides. Altruistic charities are supposed to come to the rescue of those that fall through the cracks of productivity/profit.
What we are seeing in the streets is a direct result of government cost-cutting and the failure of the very very rich to see that their practices are not met by equal giving.
Poignant.. and extremely painful..just as it is to witness the seemingly endless number of Homeless on America's streets and parks and alleys.. and in cardboard shelters, William.

Our entire family works earnestly to appease their suffering and serve them in as many ways as possible... it is never enough.
