Came Upon worrier
~~~~~~*~~~~~~
On a early spring
Blistering day
I walked upon a worrier
Resembling Don Quixote.
He was silent
Stood there motionless
His brilliant shinning armor
A beautiful milk
Chocolate brown
Amplified his magnificence
He was handsome
In his armor
Now passive
Due to his mortal injuries
Obviously suffered
From an encounter
With an ignorant human
Who saw him as a threat.
His injuries were mostly
Internal
They expressed them selves
Upon his cracked Armor breast plates
And facial armor visor.
The rarely seen Beatles
Is no more
Left behind in his field of battle
Like a fallen general
Will be memorialized
Within my mind
Somewhere down the line.
Unlike Don Quixote
Who rode into the sunset
Seniled
He stood upon his ground
Dying.
Ditto Ronald.
Every day hundreds of species go extinct.
Mostly insects.
But life finds a way.
Beautifully creative analogy between the beetle with remarkable armor that parts to allow his wings to emerge and fly and the errant bumbling warrior, Don Quixote.
We humans use our superior physical power to squash anything that we think is a threat, whether it is or not. Makes me begin to think of belligerent leaders who get our country in war because we either don't understand "them" or worse, we just want to show how we can easily swat down their meager defense capability.
Remember when we valiantly rescued Grenada?
We prey upon the weak. Things like the Beatles of this world.
Fantastic. A fine idea beautifully executed, displaying a sensitivity for all living things. We could do well with more of this in our world. John
