The visit
~~~~~
Twas early morn
A hot humid muggy day
Upon a southern beach
I slowly started to pace
My walk for the day.
~~~~~*~~~~~
Already was promising
a crowded day
Though muggy
A gentle breeze caressed
My face
Easing a painful heat
Beginning to torment
My soul.
~~~~~*~~~~~
I spied a beautiful
Statuesque woman
Walking towards me
Her beauty
Was beyond description.
~~~~~*~~~~~
At my age
Our eyes met
But for a split second
I knew it wasn't
Going to ever get
Any better than that.
~~~~~*~~~~~
As we passed each other
Her beauty
dwelled in my mind
Than I felt someone
Walking abreast me.
~~~~~*~~~~<
Ho my goodness!
It was her
She uttered my name
Suddenly
I felt I was in the presence
Of a Goddess.
~~~~~*~~~~~
She mentioned
Moments and deeds
Of my past
I knew she was special than.
~~~~~*~~~~~
Before leaving my side
She proclaimed
Remember this day
My friend,
That was 100 years
Back then.
~~~~~*~~~~~
Every now and then in the grocery store or
Wal-Mart I meet eyes with a "Trophy woman," they abound here in this section of Atlanta where Val and I live.
Anyway, of course I say no way would she care about me and move on.
But every now and then, in my peripheral vision I catch them looking at my behind.
Now I know what's good for the goose in good for the gander.
LMAO.
An enticing tale that made me remember encounters I had with statuesque women. While I did fantasize about some of them later, they were real and not a fantasy you portray in the poem.
Like a mystic magic dream. Makes me wonder if you knew her in another life.. One never knows.. The ending awed me.. I love a good twist and you caught me !! Bravo!
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
