It's been so long
Since my soul
Searched for words
I once heard
In the early morn
When a mockingbird
For me she sang
A melody.
~~~~*~~~~
Will I ever write about
The Cool sands
The ocean waves
massaged my feet with
As I strolled along
Its beach.
~~~~*~~~~
Can I find words
Buried in my heart
To describe
Those once upon a time
Lovely summer Sunsets.

Within the archives
Of my mind
I remember verses
I've written
About the sweetness
Of your soft tender lips
The Mockingbird stills sings outside my door in the morning and she kissed me sweetly as she left. In this poem, I sense a deep sense of longing for what had been, but is now lost.
On the other hand, it could just be very good mood poetry.
A POET GETS OLDER AND THEY HARDLY KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENS...BUT THEY GROW, THEY CHANGE. AND HERE I AM WALKING THROUGH YOUR LINES THAT TELL OF WHAT USED TO BE AND DOING IT SO POETICALLY WELL AND LOVELY. ONCE A POET...ALWAYS A POET. THANKS FOR SHARING, WILLIAM. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
We all deserve to find that special one that keeps us going when times are tough. I recall walking on the beach often with my first wife who eventually died of cancer. I thought life was over after she passed but in time God provided more than I could ever imagine. No I did not deserve it because I was truly engaged to Rum and Coke. But the Lord turned me around and I'll always be eternally grateful, that's no joke.
May God Bless you William beyond your wildest dreams!
Words right out of my heart, William. Age does us a disservice when it crowds out thoughts and words from the past and makes it unable for us to recreate them. Very frustrating for sure.
On the other hand, it could just be very good mood poetry.
