Oh My Darling

Let me breathe life
Back into you
As my lips kiss
The tenderness of yours.

Let me inhale
Your every sigh
So I may taste
The nectars dwelling
Within the sweetness
Of your tongue.

Let me imprison
My soul eternally
Within your heart
As I stare at
your expecting
Desires
Looking at me
From the loveliness
Of your heavenly face.

Let me be
The one whispering
My last dying words
Oh my darling
I love you.

I sense a very strong wish to be the one who is last to die rather than the other way around. In every relationship, someone is left behind. In my case, I do not wish to be the one to say goodbye to her as she dies. I would much rather prefer dying soon so she would have the rest of her life from the burden of me even though in sorrow over my loss.

A wonderful piece of writing, William, even the last stanza saying goodbye to her. True love has had its say!

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
