Memories
~~~~~*~~~~~
Someday we’ll be
Just Memories,
I pray I’ll be
Happy and noble
Memories
To whomever
Will someday be
Thinking about me
As they
Are having lunch alone
In a kitchen nook
Starring
At the outside world
Before them
Thinking of me
As I am presently
Alone
Thinking of others
No longer with us
Of happier moments
That are disappearing
Like tears in the rain.
I BELIEVE WE CAN ALL RELATE TO THIS WORK, WILLIAM, WE ALL HOPE TO BE PLEASANT MEMORIES...TO SOMEONE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Hey, if the Lord provides I'll be having a blast at Heaven!
This life will be sealed and in the past.
Eternity is forever, so why fret?
I'm thankful for today and tomorrow will be better yet!
You have written something that is universal to all of us. Will we be remembered? I think there are two ways: by the number of people who attend our funeral. They would be our local circle of friends, family and acquaintances. They will probably remember us for their lives, and then no more. But if we write great works that become classic, people will remember us in the centuries to come.
you have written so well about this topic here. I like Michael will be cremated and in part so that no one needs to be plagued with a show of remembering me, and I am to be scattered at a beach so even the ashes will disperse rapidly back to mother ocean. I suppose those who write, create art or music (and really many types of mediums), do so with some thought of someone later being able to experience what they did while here in our forms during this life, in that my hope is that, they will find pleasure in what they find.
Memories for most of us will last for a generation or so, and then we'll be forgotten in the sands of time. And since I'll be cremated, and have my ashes scattered, I won't even have a tombstone with my name on it. But that's ok with me.
The songs and art in this book are about our collective emergence after the pandemic and trauma of the last few years - comprised of 5 collections: World as Refuge, Where We Live, In Our Hands, Rhythms of Change and What We See & Sow.
