Foot Steeps Behind Me
~~~~~~*~~~~~~
I walked upon a small
Wooden planked
On an area under
Construction.
Heard two sets
Of foot steps
Striking the planks
Thought another
Walked close behind me.
As I turned
To prepared a morning
Greeting
I discovered I walked
Alone.
I crossed myself
Thanking God
For always keeping
By my side
The assigned
Guardian Angel
I’ve felt next to me
All my life.
There's no doubt in my mind that you did, indeed, hear those footsteps. An angel "touched down" to let you know it was there for sure! What a good feeling that had to be!
Love ya!
After living to see almost 70 years with glimpses of Heaven
and encounters with the pit of hell.
I have no doubt your Guardian Angel was RIGHT there.
"Thank you", William, for taking the time to share!
A creepy experience. It's good you didn't fall from the plank in surprise.
The sound of footsteps following behind can be an eerie feeling; the thought of a guardian angel close by one's side can be comforting. I have had both feelings at one time or another. Your poem, timely.
