In Need Of Slumber

I ponder, I ponder
In my mind,
For words, for verses,
I need slumber.

I need to scribe,
I know not why,
I'm in need of slunber,
I need not lie.

I'm seeking,
Seeking without inspiration,
I'm unable to function,
Looking for something,
With desperation.

In the shower,
I soak and ponder,
Seeking words for verses,
As I ponder and wonder.

The water is hot,
As it beats down my back,
Still, I ponder for words,
As I seek, the coolness,
Of the tiles, against my face.

No relief yet, for my ponder,
My head is aching,
Full of wonder,
For I am, weary and tired,
In need of slumber.

William, you are so right. Last night I couldn't finish a song poem. Had to quit for rest and right now I am going to have to stop soon. It seems that writing is an obsession to me. The older I become the more I am compelled to write. Bill

Very Good William,
I was just talking to my friend about the need to create, when I can't write, I feel lost! I think everyone here can relate!

Excellent job of kicking the muse into action!

Hugs,
Maria

I agree completely, if it's forced it just won't be right.

This happened to me for a while ...but you've expressed the feelings perfectly...your pen is still flowing.

We all go through this, but if you hang a little while, suddenly the light will shine in your spirit and your pen will begin to flow effortlessly. Thanks for sharing.
