Beautiful,
Are the wild flowers
Of fall
Closing out memories
Of a wonderful
Summer and spring
They are everywhere
As free, As the wind
Of every color, you can think
Red, yellow, purple,
Rose, pink and blue
As I will feel
As they make way
For a gentle winter snow
I see them in the fields
And foot hills
Embedded inside cracks
Among the rocks
On the scorched dunes
Along the closed beach
In the island lawns
Of highways and byways
In empty lots
And flower pots
At the edge of forest
And mysterious woods
In cracks
Of City's ghetto streets
And along your path
On your way home
They are free, as the wind
And Wild to be seen
Wild And Free
As my soul, craves to be
Before exiting
This aching world
As I desire, a peaceful dream
A soft breath
Without struggle
Before my heart's last beat
Into a divine endless sleep.
William, not only can I "see" as you write, but I can toch and smell the flowers, too. Wonderful! Sending you scads of virtual Queen Anne's Lace...my favorite wildflower.

Good Job William. We never did get to see many flowers in NYC as you know.
