Sunrise And My Demise

As I fumble and Rummange
Through my night table's draw
In the yet, still darkness
Of a new twilight's dawn
I found what I seek
It's hard and cold
I hold it, in my hands
I embraced it against
My chest
I want to feel it's lifeless
Coldness
Upon my face, and forehead
To cool my accumilating sweat.

Upon today's sunrise
We'll become
Part of each other
United in one cause
My total demise
My once happy life
Has come to this
Tears of past memories
Both of happy and sad
Within my arms
Her last heart beat
I felt against, my breast.

As I, slowly laid her head
Gently on a pillow
I witness,
A soft ember, flicker dim
Within her soft brown
Mysterious, almost ebony eyes
A tear rolls down
The side of my face
I lick a salty track
Away .

I closed the loveliness,
Of her eyes
With my finger tips
Hiding a glazed stare
To the place,
She'll soon be there
I lower my head
To kiss
Her soft, still tender
Warm lips.

Now I stare out my window
As the horizon
Is coming to life, with hues
I'll witness, no more
Upon the sunrise
Will come
My awaited demised
The orange, towards the east
Is getting brighter
A huge flaming ball
A prelude
To a beautiful sunrise
Followed
By my demise
Time to Die
BANG!

Beautifully written. Such a sad, tragic poem, William. I'm sure all widow/ers can relate...(BUT...if this is truly a reflection of your present personal life, please reconsider.)
