I opened my eyes
From a dream
I am, unable to recite
The darkness, is silent
One can hear, the stillness
Of the night
I search with sleepy eyes
As figures appear
Here, there and everywhere
Some, as shadows on the wall
Produced by light beams
slinking through broken blind slits
From the street lamp
That stand tall
Like a sentry, protecting us
Purifying the night, from the evil
Of men's doing
Fear holds my sleep at bay
weariness, makes my eyes drip
With eyes close
I remembered a prayer
To cleanse my soul
I was awaken
By birds chirping, love songs
As the beautiful sunrise
Makes me forget
An uncomfortable night
Of shadows and hideous sights.
You really captured the essence of the mightmare or whatever state you were in. Beautiful work William...
