Dry leaves crackled
Under my lumbering steps
The cold, bites my nose and neck
Hands gloved feet warm
As I take, a slow walk
Through the woods
Airing out my head
Nature feeds
My imprisoned thoughts.
Wind blowing
Howling through the trees
Naked of leaves
Small mammales hibernating
Yet, I shoulder a burden
I thought released.
Like a fishnet laden
With fish hooks
That cling to the corridors
Of my memories stowed.
I hear running water
mmmmmmmmmm!
Listen!
What a serene sound
Thank you. oh Lord
For bringing me around.
As I near, the gentle stream
The crawfish scatters
Disappearing
Under the soft sand.
Squirrels
Rushing to hoard food
Between warm days
And the freeze.
Mockingbirds
Announce their presence
With sweet
Melodies, in thier happy songs
As I continued my walk
I wish to be alone.
"Like a fishnet laden
With fish hooks
That cling to the corridors
Of my memories stowed."
