A cool Spring evening alone with thoughts...

Poem Artwork

"Hey Sugar..."

There it goes again.

Where is she?

"Hey Sweetheart", she said from another room.

She hummed this time... in a whisper.

He sensed her, knew she was there but where?

He thought he heard her again.

Up until now she was a thought...an inquisative moment now and then when her image trespassed his thoughts.

It rained for the better part of one hundred percent today. It's taken a day to make metal cooler through and through.

Summer is around the corner. Today, the springtime has been cooler than normal and the chill goes to the bones.

He sees this change in weather as a contrast of seasons.

She views it as a woman's perogative for change and , "Afterall...Mother nature is a woman", she would say.

"This is a woman's chance to show off her new outfits for the season". She would add "Just like Mother Nature's leaves turning into beautiful colors with passion in the Fall."

"What would you do on a rainy cool night?" she whispered again.

"What would you choose to do with me indoors on a rainy evening?" she echoed again.

"What would you like for me to do?" he echoed his thoughts aloud to her spirit.

"Hey Honey", she smiled and he felt it...knew her green eyes were boring into his very soul somehow.

It is the way of he and she. It's the tease and underlying spirits of two who tingle the soul of the other with thoughts...constantly dedicated.

They wait for time.

Their time.

"What pleasures you, my love...on a rainy day like today?"

Her words flew around corners and exercized the empty spaces with the warm currents of her passion.

He felt her then.

It's much more than the thrill of a soft warm pillow at bedtime..it's the thought of the moistness of flesh clinging while the rain pounds upon the roof.

It's the anticapation of an ease charmed in silence with the air that comes alive with a single charge of passion.

He felt her fingers as they caressed his shoulders and he sunk down into his favorite chair.

"Baby?" There she goes again.

He heard her words. He closed his eyes to be with her.

She always tasted them before she spit them out.

That last line's a bit of a show-stopper and the build up a total WOW! Sentiments to savour indeed: "It's taken a day to make metal cooler through and through" - loved the pause for thought there. Then: "it's the thought of the moistness of flesh clinging while the rain pounds upon the roof" and "It's the anticapation of an ease charmed in silence with the air that comes alive with a single charge of passion." Knockout... or is it spitout??!! :)) TY Kate xx

Now Susan this one is truly different and I know just how this man feels for I have felt a presence like that in my room in past and it is the most wonderful but odd feeling. Sweet romantic and sensual as only you can make them so.

After having endured long dry spells it is a joy to dance in a good shower. Plentiful liquids allow things to grow and bloom again, bear sweet fruits that quench the thirst while waiting for soothing rains. I enjoyed these easy lines sung by a free spirit that linger inside visions of kinder times and warmer places.

A finely rendered portrait indeed of the sultry moments that pile up to make intimacy a thing of valued warmth and need. Totally exquisite lines from a totally exquisite pen.
