Sometimes we cross the road to meet our regrets and the years won't allow us to go further.
Dejavu will define our losses and we ache for the yearnings that plague us everafter.

In the nuance of a dejavu
Just where beginning starts
When familiar sorts through mystery
For forlorned and lonely hearts
A voice chokes up with every tinge
Then teardrops start to form
As familiar love awakens new
Then magnifies the norm
This mystery...the dejavu
As old in new emerges
Just as the new forsakes it all
With deadend loveless searches
"I want to know," said he just then
Where were you way back then
When we should have been together
In our younger 'way back when'
When passions were just budding
With dejavu a mystery
When we loved without the spirit
When we didn't have a history
When we could've loved forever
Not missing any beat
Now dejavu defines our loss
As our crossroads finally meet?"
Dejavu can be cruel as we cross the line
We recognize what we've lost
As our love becomes defined.
Isn't that a place in India? Seriously, the longing this piece shows cuts like a blue norther through unchinked log cabin walls. Regrets hurt worse than anything.
DEJAVU is finely layered and beautifully emotive in its evocation of lost opportunities for love and joy. You take the reader on a revealing tour of personal fate and destiny, illustrating just how consequential the choices we make can be. Enjoyed this very much.

Nothing ever occurs too late or too soon, but always exactly on time. At times we may perhaps regret the taking place of some events or lament other things did not occur, but our perception is dwarfed by that of the Light, who never forgets His children for an instant. The nineteenth line in your poem struck me; perhaps things would have taken a turn now beyond our imagination if developments would have complied with wishes cherished in those days. Continuously attempting to adjust to the universe's timeframe and immaculate perception, I read your poetic ponderings with admiration and respect.
There will always be dejavu in our lives. From time to time, we always thought of "What if's"; but then again, they're just thoughts...
Dejavu's will always remain a mystery. That's what makes it more interesting to think about...

I dread moments like these. We hear ourselves repeating the past over and over and wonder why we couldn't see THEN the things we see NOW. Living forward and seeing in reverse...oy! :) Now if we could just figure out how to reverse the whole scenario. <g>
I enjoy your poetry so much. There is a personal touch in every poem.
From early on, we have to locate the trouble spots in love when it is not running smooth, or it backfires in later years. When your car malfunctions, you get it repaired---you don't junk it. The investment is just too great for one to be able to afford that. And when you have invested in a deep relationship, don't junk it too quickly. It probably can be fixed since it is the nature of relationships to breed misunderstanding. It is wise to do preventive maintenance. Dejavu is tuned and timed to run its course, Susan.
Achingly romantic as the deja vu of our lives occurs more and more often as we grow to the realization that love like life is doomed to the vagrancies of this world. Oh how this one captures the heartache of what cannot be.
