Dedicated to all who love.

Poem Artwork

And when nights dreams are finished
When sun comes breaking through
My lips will still be famished
For a loving taste of you
When dreaming time has passed it's prime
When sunlight hides it's goal
I raise my head from lonely bed
Reach for my kindred soul
Then with a smile he will return
In veiled attempt to shadow
The morning light that fades the night
As if nothing else much matters
I lie in comfort , earth bound...
As thoughts of midnight fly
Then he'll return to ease that burn
Then kiss awake my eyes

A masterpiece at best! You are truly a master at penning and have a way with words. Close your eyes girl and continue to dream. Thanks. Jim

Susan, this is lovely! The rhythm and rhyme add a classical flavor and the imagery is softly sensual. Splendid work!

the enchanting and magical atmosphere of this poem is only surpassed by the power of your love desiring to be released from its present shape ... luv how you conclude this poem, Susan ... in fact, the entire feel to it ...

"Then kiss awake my eyes" Just splendid Belle. A beautifully flowing statement from a delicate heart. Ritchie says: "Va Va Voom!"

Lovely love poem, romance at its best. It seemed so easy to write when I know how difficult it is to achieve. Victor

Let those thoughts fly and meet up with all the like minded thoughts in dreamland...

A worthy nod indeed "to all who love." The word "love" is thrown about so often that we sometimes forget to treasure its reality. These lines remind us that it's one thing we never want to forget or fall into the habit of taking for granted. Enjoyed the read.

Love those dreams! It must be Saturday morning, sleep in late, enjoy snuggling with your "kindred soul."

Fantastic, this is romantic longing at its best, no condemnation just passionate desire to hold your lover once more and it works so well in this style you used.
